 NOLA BEEZ, an online collaboration of ethnic media outlets featuring hyperlocal news content covering the New Orleans area, will be launched on January 12, 2009, at Dillard University, in New Orleans.
 
NOLA BEEZ will publish articles and multimedia stories contributed by seven New Orleans-based publications representing the city's demographic diversity: New Orleans Agenda, Data News Weekly, NOLA TV, Jambalaya News, El Tiempo New Orleans, Ngoc Lan Thoi Bao, and Louisiana Weekly.
 
Immediately following the press conference is a Meet & Greet Reception with the all candidates seeking office during the 2010 Election Cycle and leaders from ethnic communities.

The NOLA BEEZ ethnic news hub is a project of New America Media's Digital Divide Initiative funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The goals of this project are to help community media set up a viable, robust online presence with trained contributors who could produce stories more efficiently and comprehensively, and to open up new lines of communication among and between ethnic and immigrant communities.
