Univision commentator Jorge Ramos writes that it is time to break the papal silence. No one should be above the law, he writes. Pope Benedict XVI is accused of concealing and hiding pedophile priests. Ramos argues that someone who protects criminals over victims and cares more about the image of the institution that the victims of rape should not be the leader of the Catholic Church.

Pope Benedict XVI, he writes, has to explain himself or resign. That is what the Catholic Church teaches: recognize one's sins, repent and correct them. When it comes to the violation of children, Ramos writes, there is no impunity or papal infallibility.
