SAN SALVADOR -- The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Jose Miguel Insulza, and the Ibero-American Secretary General Enrique Iglesias, have condemned Arizona's new immigration law, which makes it a crime under state law to be an undocumented immigrant, La Jornada reports. During a visit to El Salvador, Inzulsa called SB 1070 “discriminatory” and said it "creates the basis for racial discrimination that we consider unacceptable.” Insulza praised the quick reaction of U.S. President Barack Obama in criticizing the measure and expressed his hope that the law will not be implemented.
