SAN FRANCISCO — As tension seems to be rising between the Chinese and African American communities after several recent attacks in the Bay Area, 82-year-old Li Zhengzhu is enjoying her family life with her three African-American sons-in-law and one African-American daughter-in-law, reports the Sing Tao Daily. Li, a resident at Chinatown’s Ping Yuan public housing, has eight children, four of whom married African Americans. Li said cultural and language differences could be easily resolved by being understanding and treating everyone in the family equally. She said her African American son-in-law, Connor, has been taking of her as if he were her own son and she loves them all as if they were her children. Li told the Sing Tao that she believes the solution to interracial tensions is education because this can motivate positive communication between different groups.
