SAN FRANCISCO -- As part of this year’s Philippine Independence Day celebration, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco recently launched the Philippine Food Festival at the Philippine Center in downtown San Francisco. Organized in commemoration of the 112th Anniversary of Philippine Independence on June 12, the festival aims to entice more Americans to visit the Philippines and participate in the “Kulinarya [Culinary]” Food Trips there. Designed by the Philippine Department of Tourism, the “Kulinarya” Food Trip tours will allow travelers to experience the rich culinary heritage of the Philippines and the breathtaking sights of its 7,107 islands via travel partner Philippine Arilines. Here in the United States, the month-long culinary festival will showcase the best of Filipino cuisine from among 15 participating restaurants in Northern California this June.
