Editor's Note: Many bands are born from a group of friends jamming in a basement somewhere, but Kiosk is unusual. It was born in a basement in Tehran. It’s been called the most influential underground band in Tehran since the Iranian Revolution. It’s released three albums, all of which are banned in Iran. The band is now based in the US and Canada, and their latest album is called Global Zoo. Arash Sobhani is the band's lead singer and songwriter. Kiosk performs at Yoshi's in San Francisco on July 4 at 8 pm.
