A bill has been introduced to provide Temporary Legal Status to qualifying Pakistanis in the United States, in the wake of the floods in that country, reports Pakistan Link and Geo TV. U.S. Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) introduced the bill along with co-sponsors Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) and Rep. John Conyers (D-Michigan). Temporary Legal Status had been available to other groups like Haitians after the earthquake in that country. The Pakistani Ambassador to the United States, Hussain Haqqani welcomed the bill saying it would ease the situation for many Pakistanis living in the United States.
