Schools across the nation are increasingly adopting punitive measures against students as a way to control and deter violence and other disruptive behaviors at school. But a rising tide of voices say Zero Tolerance policies are ineffective, and in fact only succeed in making matters worse, by creating a “school to prison pipeline.” New America Media's Jacob Simas discusses the issue with former New America Media Managing Editor Annette Fuentes, author of the new book “Lockdown High: When the Schoolhouse Becomes a Jailhouse".
