LOS ANGELES -- An editorial in La Opinión calls Gov. Jerry Brown's veto of a recent farm worker bill "unacceptable."  The proposed legislation, SB 104, would have simplified and eliminated steps that are required for farm workers to organize in order to avoid intimidation and harassment by employers during the voting period and protect themselves from the hazardous conditions in California fields.

California labor laws should have stricter provisions to protect farm workers, editors write. "Brown’s veto of SB 104 was wrong; if he is worried about the agricultural industry he should protect its most important asset: its workers."
