Telephonic News Briefing on E-Verify the Federal Government's Internet-based System - Wed, July 13th
As states move to enact their own immigration bills, a proposed federal law sometimes referred to as a "stealth Sensebrenner-type bill," could mean end of comprehensive immigration reform. The bill, proposed by Texas Congressman Lamar Smith, would require all U.S. businesses to use E-Verify, the federal government's Internet-based system that verifies work eligibility.
Please Join New America Media, Center for American Progress and The OPportunity Agenda for a telephonic news briefing on the results of CAP's new study of E-Verify and why the bill could be the biggest threat to immigration reform yet.
