An Occupy Oakland protester is facing possible deportation to Mexico after being arrested Monday in Frank Ogawa Plaza outside Oakland City Hall. Francisco "Pancho" Ramos Stierle, 36, is being held without bail as a result of a federal immigration hold and could face possible deportation as a result of his immigration status. Supporters of Ramos Stierle held a demonstration in Oakland on Tuesday to protest his deportation.

Ramos Stierle dropped out of his doctoral studies program in astrophysics at UC Berkeley because he did not want to work toward the development of nuclear weapons.
