Hear Seniors’ Stories and Advocates Fighting for Their Rights
WHEN: Thursday, March 22, 2012, 10:45 a.m-1 p.m. (lunch included)
WHO: Experts, health and social service providers, a senior and family describing their close encounters with hard times.
WHY: Learn about legal, legislative, health care battles advocates are fighting for ethnic elders – and hear from seniors themselves and a young caregiver for his grandmother.
More and more middle-class seniors of color are seeking help for the first time. Panelists will explain seniors’ struggles and how agencies are softening the recession’s impact on food, housing, jobs and health care—despite deepening budget cuts.
