China will take about 23.000 fishing boats down the Eastern Sea (which the Chinese called the South China Sea) when the annual ban on fishing in the sea is due to expire on Wednesday, August 1, 2012.

Of the 23.000 of this fishing vessels, fishing vessels, nearly 9.000 are from Hainan Province and of 14.000 are from Guangdong Province, Xinhua, China Daily, newspaper of Hainan Province and some other sources in China reported.

Thousands of fishing boats, as well as a large fishing fleet along along the Guangdong Sea, temporarily suspended activities because Beijing "banned fishing in the East Sea from 16 May to 1 month 8, 2012 ".

The main purpose of this prohibition is to prevent Vietnamese fishermen from practicing offshore fishing in the main fishing season of this year.

Vietnam has protested the illegal Chinese fishing ban on the East Sea as it is recognized as open water as well as the Chinese creation of a city called Sansha that claims sovereignty of all the surroudning waters as well as the Paracel Islands and Spratly archepelago that rightfully belong  to Vietnam.
