LOS ANGELES -- Vicky Gutierrez, who won a New America Media award in 2009, has sued her former employer Telemundo and parent company NBC Universal for age discrimination. The former Telemundo reporter and anchor, who worked for the Los Angeles Spanish-language TV station KVEA from 2003 until this year, claims that she was let go when she turned 50 and was replaced by a younger woman. She claims her job was terminated after she complained about workplace harassment. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges causes of action for wrongful termination, retaliation and age discrimination.
