Maritza Lizeth Felix Named Best Spanish-Language Journalist
The Phoenix New Times awarded Maritza Lizeth Feliz best Spanish-language journalist for 2012. Felix has uncovered so many good yarns that she swept the Arizona Press Club's contest for Spanish-language newspaper reporting at this year's awards banquet. The New Times lauded her piece on so-called "anchor babies," her reporting on the Gabby Giffords shooting and her commentary on the terrible truth that simply being an undocumented immigrant has been a death sentence in Arizona for so many.
