Mitt Romney is closing the gap with President Barack Obama among Florida's Hispanic voters, a majority of whom say they aren't better off than they were four years ago, according to a new poll released by Florida International University, the Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald. Obama is leading Romney by 51-44 percent among Hispanics in Florida, a relatively narrow lead that could be a problem for a campaign that counts on the support of Latino voters. Nationally, Obama enjoys a 66-31 percent lead among Latino voters. The difference between Florida and the rest of the country, El Nuevo Herald reports, is the Cuban American vote. Cuban American voters, who are staunchly Republican, seem to be increasingly suportive of the Romney campaign, according to the poll. Meanwhile, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans and other Hispanic communities in Florida are supporting Obama.
