A Korean American engineer was nominated for a key post in the Obama Administration, the White House announced on Friday.
Timothy Hyungrock Haahs was tapped to be a member of the board of directors for the National Institute of Building Sciences, along with seven other individuals for various positions. Haahs, who received the Korean American Scientists and Engineers Association’s Entrepreneur of the Year award last year, is president and chief executive officer of Timothy Haahs & Associates, an engineering and architectural design firm. He also serves an advisor for the Philadelphia Urban Land Institute of Architects.
“I am grateful these accomplished men and women have agreed to join this Administration,” President Obama said in a statement. “I’m confident they will serve ably in these important roles. I look forward to working with them in the coming months and years.” Read more here.
