DETROIT-- The largest wave of Americans, around 77 million, will be heading into retirement in the next 15 years. Industries, like Hollywood, are taking notice and making films that appeal to the older generations. Martina Guzman of WDET public radio interviewed entertainment reporter Randee Dawn about the film industry’s newest niche audience, aging baby boomers.

Movies like, “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” and “Quartet” were about life after retirement and made millions in box office sales.

Martina Guzman reported this story for WDET’s “Craig Fahle Show” through the MetLife Foundation Journalists in Aging Fellows Program, a project of New America Media and the Gerontological Society of America.
