Ed. Note: More than a dozen Native-American parents from San Francisco gathered at New America Media's S.F. officers for a roundtable on the importance of parental engagement in shaping the success of their children's education and schools. They shared their insights, in the context of CA's new public school funding law, the Local Controil Funding Formula [LCFF]. These were unanimous in emphasizing the need for school curricula that highlighted the history of American Indians and for culturally sensitive counselors.
