The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), along with Central American and Mexican service organizations, is launching a national call-in campaign Wednesday to pressure President Obama to expedite administrative relief for immigrants and to protect Central Americans now crossing the border.

“Now the President has an opportunity to become the protector of these Central American children who are seeking refuge in our nation and alleviate the suffering of the millions more who have deep roots in our country but are forced to live in the shadows as undocumented immigrants,” stated Angelica Salas, CHIRLA executive director.

The “Expedite Relief and Protect the Children” campaign seeks to direct 1,100 calls a day to the White House.
