CA Driver's License Applications Exceed DMV's Expectations

Almost a week after it started granting driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants in California, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), which has already hired 1,000 additional employees for this purpose, is considering creating even more positions to cover the demand. 

“The numbers have exceeded our expectations,” DMV spokesperson Armando Botello told La Opinión.

In the first three days after the implementation of AB 60, which allows undocumented immigrants in California to apply for driver's liceses, the DMV received over 46,000 applications.
