Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto announced this week that he has proposed a change to the Mexican Constitution that would legalize same-sex marriage nationwide. Same-sex marriage is currently legal in Mexico City and several other parts of Mexico. If the national proposal is successful, Mexico would join other Latin Ameican countries Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay that have already legalized same-sex marriage.
