Rep. Maxine Waters blasted President Donald Trump on MSNBC Friday morning, calling him “most deplorable person I’ve met in my life.”

During an appearance on the network’s “Morning Joe” program, the outspoken Waters, one of the first Trump critics to broach the topic of impeachment, she said she’s learned there’s a lot of smoke — even fire — surrounding the commander in chief.

“Everything that I have learned about this president has started with the campaign itself,” Waters, 79, said. “I think he’s the most deplorable person I’ve met in my life, and if you take a look at his allies and some of his Cabinet, all these people around him with connections to the Ukraine and to Russia — everyone should have known that. … Our intelligence committees have not moved fast enough, but I have my hopes on [special counsel Robert] Mueller as most people do. I think he’s going to connect the dots.”

Asked if Trump will be able to stabilize the country, Waters — the most senior of 12 black women currently serving in Congress — expressed doubt.
